Campaign Story

My name is Sonia, and I’ve been diagnosed with Low Ovarian Reserve, also known as Diminished Ovarian Reserve (DOR). For those unfamiliar with DOR, it’s a condition where the ovaries lose their normal reproductive potential, significantly affecting fertility. My partner and I have been trying to conceive for over four years. Nearly two years ago, after receiving my diagnosis, I began a journey to understand this condition better.

I consulted various fertility specialists and underwent numerous tests in search of answers. Time and again, I was told that conceiving naturally would be incredibly difficult. Given the severity of my DOR, I was advised to act quickly to maximize our chances of pregnancy.

At the beginning of this year, I started a treatment regimen to prepare my body for IVF cycles. We have completed two cycles so far, but unfortunately, both have failed. Most fertility specialists suggest that it often takes around six cycles for a successful pregnancy, but the emotional and financial toll has been overwhelming. Each cycle is extremely expensive, and it has been challenging to keep up with the costs.

This is where I’m reaching out for help. We’ve created a fundraiser to assist us with the financial burden of these necessary fertility treatments. Any contribution, no matter how small, would mean the world to us and bring us one step closer to fulfilling our dream of starting a family.

Thank you for considering our request and for taking the time to support us in this difficult journey. Your generosity is truly appreciated.

    Update on My Fertility Journey

Your support has meant the world to me during what has been an emotionally and financially draining time.

Since reaching out for help, I have gone through two cycles of fertility treatments. Unfortunately, both of these cycles had to be canceled due to complications. I developed ovarian cysts, and during testing, doctors also discovered two polyps on my uterine lining. This was a huge setback, as I now require surgery to remove the polyps before I can move forward with another cycle. My surgery is scheduled for next month, and while I’m relieved to finally be able to address these issues, it adds to the stress I’ve already been experiencing.

The last few months have been extremely difficult—not only physically and emotionally, but also financially. I have already invested everything I can into my fertility treatments, but I have reached the limit of my savings. To make matters more urgent, I’ve also learned that my AMH (anti-müllerian hormone) levels have dropped over the past year, which means time is not on my side. I’m being advised to act quickly if I want to maximize my chances of a successful cycle.

With the upcoming surgery and another treatment cycle to follow, I find myself facing significant financial hurdles. I’ve poured all my resources into this journey because it means everything to me, but I need your help now more than ever to continue moving forward.

If you are able to contribute or share my fundraiser, I would be deeply appreciative. Every donation, no matter how small, brings me one step closer to having the family I’ve always dreamed of.

Thank you so much for your continued support. This journey has been really incredible challenging, but knowing I’m not alone makes all the difference.

    Update

I want to share a very personal update on my fertility journey.

Earlier this year, I was incredibly blessed with a spontaneous pregnancy. On January 31, I found out I was pregnant — a moment I will always cherish. I went to my first OB-GYN appointment to confirm the pregnancy, and it was confirmed that I was indeed pregnant. Two weeks later, at 6 weeks, I had my second appointment. That visit went well — we were able to hear the baby’s heartbeat, and our baby was growing beautifully. It was one of the most emotional and joyful moments of my life.

My next appointment was at 8 weeks. Nothing could have prepared me for that day. During the ultrasound, there was no heartbeat detected. We learned that our baby had stopped growing at 7 weeks and 3 days. I was faced with the heartbreaking reality of a miscarriage.

There truly are no words to fully describe the pain of that loss. Alongside the joy we experienced came deep sorrow. This journey has reminded me how fragile and precious life is, and how much strength it takes to continue moving forward after loss.

Thank you to everyone who has supported, prayed for, donated, and stood by me throughout this journey. Your love, encouragement, and kindness mean more than I can say. Please continue to keep me in your thoughts and prayers as I heal and continue on this path toward motherhood.
